Family Reunion July 2011

So this year my family had an official Family Reunion. But it was just a reunion for my immediate family! Meaning my siblings and their families, and my parents, and me!

It was a ton of fun! We did a little bit of fly fishing!


A little bit of biking! And of course it was grandma leading all of her little ducklings in a row.


Even the littlest kids got to enjoy the bike ride!


And of course there is just the good old bonding time!


And Bethany in all of her cuteness!!! Who also if you can believe it or not is walking!!! She was all over the place! But she really loved standing in the doorways, She got some sort of satisfaction of being able to stand right in the middle of the doorway. It was really funny!


And this is our quaint little cabin that was capable of holding all 15 of us.


Family Meeting. It was always funny to watch the little boys during our family meetings, they were always laughing and playing, and always cute!


Of course at a family reunion, you always want to take family pictures, and in order to look nice for the pictures, we got new shirts, but the new shirts were just for the girls only. And of course when we put them on the silliness in us came out!

One of the last things we did was celebrate my birthday!!! I turned 22 this year. And this birthday has been one of the few where I have my whole family with me to celebrate my birthday! I have not had my whole family with me for my birthday in at least 7 years, if not more! All in all it was a very good birthday! And an excellent Family Reunion!

The Rest of the Year 2010

So I know I am far behind in updating my blog, like a year behind, but regardless, I am gonna give all the people reading my blog a quick update of the year 2010 starting in my Summer Semester of School (April 2010).

So my summer semester of school was pretty awesome! I had some really good roommates, and the snow finally started to melt in Rexburg. Which always makes my life that much better! And of course what is a little roommate fun without some fruit smoothies in a margarita glass!
But like all good things, the semester of fun must come to an end! So back home I go. Back to good old New Mexico and good old Costco. But then again going back home is not so bad when you have a cute niece like my Bethany and Isaiah to go home to! Don't get me wrong I was excited to see the rest of my family, but there is something about a niece and nephew that just make me happy. But then again who wouldn't be happy when you can come home to this!
And of course coming home at the end of the Summer means that the next season is Fall which means it is time for the Balloon Fiesta and the State Fair!! The State Fair is always awesome to go to because you get great food, and great activities for some family fun. Then there is the Balloon Fiesta, which I have not been to in at least 7 years. So it was so much fun to go to!


Good old Thanksgiving Time. This Thanksgiving has probably been one of the smallest Thanksgiving in terms of how many family members I have had at home for this time of year. None the less, It was still an amazing Thanksgiving with amazing food!
Time for Christmas!!! I love Christmas, and this year in particular we actually decided to go to the NORTH POLE!!! ....... no really we did, in a sense. We decided to take a ride on the Polar Express which happened to be located in Arizona. While on the Polar Express we were "Magically Transported" to the North Pole! It was an amazing adventure and an awesome Christmas! And I got to spend the whole vacation with my entire family, which made this Christmas that much better!! And yes we did get to meet Santa Clause!Ready I am! Here I go! Jumping into 2011 is the way to go!!!!! So It is finally 2011, but I am not going back to school right away! I have decided to stay home and work, and take some online classes. Which I don't mind at all, because now I don't have to deal with the Rexburg snow, and I have also made some really great friends at Costco! They have moved me to the night shift, so I now work with a close knit crew, which is amazing! And I love my co-workers very much! But sadly it is almost time for my summer semester to start again. So it is time to say See ya Later Costco and Hello Idaho!

Breaking in the New Year

Well what a better way to break in the New Year than to go back to school which happens to be surrounded by 4 feet of snow! Well regardless of the snow it was still a pretty good Winter Semester up at good old BYU-Idaho. I hung out with some friends in the snow of course........ well I guess you could say that we hung out on top of the snow and not in the snow!


So in order to warm up from all of this snow we went to a Hot Springs! It was really fun. It was also the first time that I have ever been to a Hot Springs. So we hung out and played and warmed up a little! and in case you are wondering Yes the Hot Springs is outside and even though it was outside we were still able to warm up.


I did some more hanging out with friends and we just had a good time! We danced a little, played a little, joked a little, and laughed a lot!


Then of course there is my roommates. It seemed like we were always together! Then again we did live together! But it was always interesting. There was always something going on, we were always doing something. Granted our apartment was not perfect we did have our little moments, that could be done with out. But none the less we still managed to have a good time!



I was also able to celebrate my brother's birthday with him! That was fun! and for those of you who I have celebrated their birthday with you know to keep an eye on your things. I always think that birthdays should be memorable so in order to keep them memorable I tend to borrow the birthday person's personal affects, like their wallet or shaver, and I then re-wrap them. But I always try to throw in a new gift that they don't have, or in Matt's case I try to throw in an extra special treat!


But who can compare with a homemade cooked meal. Especially when it is chicken with fresh salad and homemade rolls, and basically the works!! What can I say my brother married an excellent cook and is becoming an excellent cook!




Well that's it for now tune in next time when it comes to BREAKING IN THE SUMMER SEMESTER! haha just kidding you can't break a semester you can divide it in half which is where midterms take place or you can start a new semester, but you can't literally Break a semester............ silly people!

Now remember don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you read!....... except in the case of MY blog because there are pictures to prove that what I am telling you is the truth!! ta-ta for now!

Family Thanksgiving

Well it is Thanksgiving time, or at least it is time for me to tell you all about my 2009 Thanksgiving. It was so much fun!!! my whole family was there! That means approximately 15 people; Dad, Mom, Jessica, Sarah, Micah, Joshua, Krystle, Matthew, Jamie, Me (Katy) and all of my nephews; Benson, Taft, Isaiah, and Amulek! At this point in time the other person is my unborn niece who belongs to Joshua and Krystle.

Well the week started out with just hanging out with family and of course that means playing with my nephews and since it is fall that means that there is a ton of leaves to play with!!


Next comes the trip. My parents wanted to do something special for our family since we would all be together. So we took a little trip to a little place called El Paso, Texas. and to make it even more special my dad thought it would be fun if we all traveled together in one big car! :) Or should I say a 15 passenger van!


It was indeed a very special trip! As you can tell from every one's faces in the picture below, especially Krystle, Jamie, and Sarah.


Ah the Hotel! We got to El Paso Wednesday Night where we went to our hotel to rest up for the next day!


The El Paso, Texas Thanksgiving Day Parade! The parade was about 2 hours long I think but it was ton of fun even though we had to sit on the cement, which none of us really cared about. Although I think our Butts cared after the parade was finished and we all stood up! But it was fun. Dad especially wanted us to see the parade because it is something that he enjoyed as a kid and he wanted to share it with us! and that made it even more special.



Well you can't do Thanksgiving with out some food of course! I think the pilgrims would be very upset at us especially if we did not do some sort of decent food eating on Thanksgiving Day. So in order to not make the Pilgrims mad at us and to satisfy our stomachs we traveled about an hour to get to a restaurant that served a pretty decent Thanksgiving meal. Granted it was not as good as Mom's turkey/ feast that she would have made but it was still pretty good. See everyone is Happy even my brothers and dad so it must have been pretty good!

Well After we ate our thanksgiving Dinner we headed home. But the following day all of us siblings and their spouses got together and decided that we would do a little scavenger hunt for our parents. They had to go from place to place around and in our house to find puzzle pieces and then they had to put the puzzle pieces together and then answer the question. Which asked where mom and dad wanted to eat? But they had to choose different places because it was going to be a boys night out and a girls night out.

So us girls took mom out to Olive Garden, It was a very fun and delicious night!


Well then comes the saddest time, when it is time for all to depart and go back to their homes. :( which means it is time to say See ya later!

Virginia, Maryland, and Washington D.C Trip

Well I am back to blogging again! I am not really good at keeping this blog updated, but I am trying my best. So anyway I am gonna try and get you all up to speed with what is going on in my life! Wish me luck!! :)

So last year after the summer semester finished I took a little trip which landed me in Sterling Virginia. Which happens to be where my Uncle and his family live. That is the first time I have been out east to see my cousins and Aunt and Uncle in like 17 Years...... then again it was hard to go visit them while they were living in South America. So I went and just hung out and had a good time!

One of the first places we went was Ocean City, Maryland. And in case you can't tell the sign in the picture below says Welcome to Maryland.


So here we are on the Board Walk (Under the Board Walk well be having some fun Under the Board Walk..... that song is gonna be stuck in your head now huh?) Well anyway as we went wandering on the board walk we saw this. I thought it was pretty cool, It is a special kind of Art.


Then there is the Ocean! I mean who goes to Ocean City and does not see the Ocean, that is just retarded. But anyway here is the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. I guess you could say that 2009 was a pretty busy year for me considering I was able to travel from Coast to Coast in 1 year. I consider myself pretty lucky.


And some of the things that I saw in Ocean City were pretty cool, I mean you have all of the different stores that are along the board walk and all of the restaurants and of course the amusement Park. It was cool! One of the coolest stores that I saw was this kite store which had some pretty impressive kites if I do say so myself.


Then of course there were Sand Castles! And you know those people from the East Coast make some pretty impressive Sand Castles, but if you don't believe me just take a look at the picture for yourself.



Well now it's back to Virginia! On the way home I saw the Temple for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Washington D.C.


I also went and saw some of the monuments, During the Day................

I also got to see the Changing of the Guard which is in Arlington Cemetery. There is a grave (I guess you would also call it a monument) which is dedicated to those soldiers who have no name or who were never identified, but who died fighting for our country, This way their names may not be known but they are always remembered for the service that they have given their country. It was a very special ceremony.



All in all it was a pretty eventful Trip. I got to see many monuments as you all can tell, which was just incredible especially to remember and learn about the history of the USA! BUT the best part of the trip and the whole reason for the trip was getting to spend time with my Aunt and Uncle and cousins!!! It was an awesome trip!!! :)
